Class of 1977
30 years! Hard to believe. For those of you, like me, who are testing the ol' gray matter by trying to put names together with faces in the yearbook, I was the drum major of the Live Oak Emerald Regime and Marching Band (yep, the guy in the big funny looking hat leading the band at half-time at the football game).
It seems that many of you have had the good fortune to mark the passing of these years through the birth and raising of your own children. I was taken aback at the thought that some of you already have grandchildren! Not having children leaves one with a somewhat warped sense (or denial) of the passing of time. I was reminded of this the other day in a funny way when I referred to the 70's as having happened "just 20 or so years ago...." Not quite sure what happened to the additional 10 years other than the fact that the sped by like one of Cyndee Bingham's drag races!
Nonetheless, let's see if I can fill in some of those years....
Went off to UC Berkeley in the fall of '77. I was going to make Mr. Caredio proud by majoring in Political Science, getting into law school and going on to become a name in the political arena. I was also looking forward to getting involved in the protests and political action groups of the fabled campus, but, for the most part, found the students at Berkeley to be at a loss for anything to protest other than divestment in South Africa. I eventually graduated with a major in Development Studies (the study of creating development in Third World nations) and a minor in Spanish. That should have been my launch pad for a good school of Public Policy if it weren't for the fact that my school life was hijacked by the economics of staying in class and the need to find a job.
The job came in the form working as a tour guide for 6 months out of the year while I was still in classes. Six months out of the year guiding your grandparents, great-aunts and uncles from Samarkand to Bukhara; Beijing to Moscow; the Canadian Rockies to the fjords of Norway. I was married off a thousand times over by grandmothers who thought their granddaughters were destined to run off with the wrong boy. From Down Under to the Top of the World, I somehow forgot that I was supposed to get back on the career path.
Somewhere in there, after graduating in '83, I moved into the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco (2 doors up from the Grateful Dead house on Ashbury Street) , and I've lived in the City ever since. I can say, without a hint of embarrassment, that I still find San Francisco to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I never fail to realize that as I fly home from wherever I've just finished a project.
'89, I changed course and started working in the marketing and event management business. From product launches, to CEO retreats, to Oracle Open Worlds, Olympics and World Environment Days, I've worked with the companies behind the scenes and on site that put it all together. I currently work for a smaller firm in that same vein located here in San Francisco.
I have a great partner of 14 years, and we make our home just across the Panhandle from where I first moved, just a few blocks from USF and Golden Gate Park.
I still make it down to Morgan Hill about once a month to check in on my mom (who was in the Live Oak Class of '54) and still lives out on Watsonville Road. For those of you who knew my brother Danny(Class of '79), he had two sons, Daniel(Class of '05) and Kadan(graduated in Paso Robles). Daniel is working on being the fourth generation to live on the family land.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the reunion. For those who won't be able to make it and feel like being in touch, I hope to hear from you!

Lieutenant Colonel, USA. I graduated from San Jose State University and was commissioned as an Armor officer in the Regular Army. I initially attended the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, where I met my wife (Pam). I then attended Ranger School, followed by command and staff assignments in the United States and Germany. After eight years of active duty, I transferred to the Army Reserve in 1989 and attended the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. I then spent over ten years in practice as a trial lawyer in Stockton and Modesto. In 2004, I was recalled to active duty and assigned as a Foreign Systems Analyst, National Ground Intelligence Center, Charlottesville, Virginia. Essentially, I'm an intelligence analyst looking at foreign armored vehicles. Pam and I will celebrate 25 years of marriage this year and have a son (Stephen) who is 21 and plans to attend the Culinary Institute of America. Pam works as a Pediatric Nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center. I am now completing the Master's Degree in Strategic Intelligence through the Defense Intelligence Agency. I no longer run, but am a long distance cyclist (100 miles or more), and my German is good.

Hi to all! After school I went off to UC Davis for 5 years of drunken debauchery. After which I came home to MH and took up Mechanical Contracting for the next 20 years. My first wife and I had 2 girls, Alanna 16 and Kaileigh 14, who live with me full time. Alanna is accomplished singer/songwriter. Please visit her at www.myspace.com/alannabautista and her band at www.myspace.com/ashesashesmusic. Kailiegh is an accomplished shopper...just kidding. She is in the midst of compiling her modeling portfolio and is currently playing volleyball. They both attend Valley Christian Schools in San Jose. I got married to Denise, a wonderful Wife and Mom, in 2002 and had a son JohnIV that same year. I have decided to take the pressure off of my daughters and have my own grandkids! For those of you who remember my parents, my Dad passed away in 2003 but my Mom is alive and well. After career burnout I left contracting to build choppers for a couple years of bike shows, magazine features, TV and partying. In 2005 I took a grownup job again as COO of STWA, Inc., an international environmental technology business. I enjoy the environmental sector, which is rewarding, from a socially conscientious point of view, as well as, learning international business and seeing the world, but I will think twice before taking a position in a publicly traded company again. Answering to a Board of Directors and Shareholders is not my favorite activity. I am still here in MH with my family and enjoying life. Visit our family blog at www.meet-the-bautistas.com and I hope to see or talk to all of you again!

Hi Everyone!
I can't believe it's been almost 30 years since graduation. Gads... Too much time has passed, so I'll give you a rundown of what's going on NOW. :)
I live in the great town of Colfax, CA, and work in Rocklin for Sage Software as a QA Engineer. I've got a great son who works for the Placer County Sheriff's department (which definitely keeps me in line). He gave me a wonderful daughter-in-law, two beautiful granddaughters, and another grandbaby who's still on the way.
When I'm not working, or playing with the grandchildren, I'm drag racing. I built an '85 S10 with a 13 second 4.3L v6 engine which I race at Infineon Raceway, Sacramento Raceway, and Top Gun Raceway (Fallon, NV).
You can find me on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/cyndee_lou.
Hope to hear from some of you!

After graduation I moved to San Diego. Continued my education at UCSD and graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Masters Degree in Humanities and Masters Degree in History. I was busy for quite some time. Married for 17 years and began a small business programing computers for the past 20 years. Today, I live in Arizona teach in adult education, and quite happy and well.
I have to say, my time as a student in Kliene Schula, were years well spent. My heart felt gratitude goes out to the three instructors, who gave me all the tools I would ever need to succeed: Gerry Logan, Marlaina Turnwald and John Huning, Thank You!

2012 update: Hi there! Since my initial post here, I've moved to Morrison, Colorado (yes, I move a LOT), which is west of Denver. I absolutely LOVE it here!
I'm working for EchoStar as a project coordinator, working towards my PMP (project management professional) certification.
I've remarried (third time is the charm, eh?) to a wonderful man, Joey and we've purchased a small mountain farm where we have 58 animals of various shapes and sizes.
If you're ever in the Denver area, drop us a note! We LOVE entertaining and it would be so fun to catch up.
Hugs!

Hi there! It's wonderful to see so many Live Oakers are represented! Let's see... Married twice (9 years to the first, 18 years to the second -- 36 if there is a third?), now separated from the second. I have two wonderful grown sons, Derek, who is 28 and married, is a Naval CPO stationed in Maryland, and Jeremy, 23, who is unmarried and a Sergeant in the Army, is stationed in Colorado. I also have a beautiful step daughter, who has given me four awesome grandchildren! Elizabeth and her family live in Castro Valley, CA. I left California with my second husband in 2000, after moving all over the dadgum Bay Area, and moved to Oregon to study under Good Samaritan Ministries. We then moved for 1.5 years to New Jersey, an experience I do NOT recommend. In February of 2004 we moved to Louisiana, where I still reside though Craig has moved back to California, and I hope to move to Colorado before another summer in Louisiana finishes me off. I'm working as an IT project manager for one of the largest credit unions in Louisiana. For fun, I train horses for western pleasure, read scifi and dance country and western, though I just began taking ballroom lessons. That's about it, I guess. My sister Janice is living in Minden, NV, and my father and brother, Scott, have moved to Fernley, NV. Most of my friends and family have exited California, or at least the Bay Area so, other than visiting my stepdaughter and grandchildren, I don't have much call to visit California. I hope you are all happy, or at least content, and that you have your health and your faith.

Thought I would sign up and see what is going on in Morgan Hill these days. It's been a long time, so I will fill you in on what I have been up to.
I am now living in Florida, on Merritt Island, which is near the Space Center, Cocoa Beach, and 45 miles east of Orlando. I am divorced, and a Technical Writer for an engineering firm called Stratos Lightwave in Melbourne, Florida. I love it.
I have 3 children, Nick is 21, Kristen is 17, and Riannon is 11.
Florida is a lot of fun to live in, once you get past the hurricane thing, and there is lots of outdoor stuff to do, especially beach and water activities, and then there is Orlando, with the Mouse House.
Well, keep me posted as to the next reunion, as I think I would like to come back to California for it.
My Instant Messenger screen name is rivergrovegal on Yahoo and AIM. Myspace name is scottishbella. Would love to hear from you.

Hi everyone.I dont know if you remember me but I was the stern faced guy who drove the dark green 1969 Chevelle that was real loud.I used to hang out at Carls Jr and was best friends with David Rose.We used to do donuts in the parking lot at night in front of the tennis courts until one night me and Dave and Sandy Thaute got caught by the cops. The cops knew Daves dad so we got off with a warning.I really miss those fun filled days when we didnt have a care in the world.I got married in 1987 and was married for 21 years. We grew apart and finally divorced last year. After high school I worked in the tile buisness with my dad until he retired in 1990.I then took about nine classes in automotive and am now a ASE certified auto smog technician.I still own some 60s muscle cars and recently bought a ski boat. Its funny being single at 50 because everything is so different now.I wish it was still the way it used to be.I would like to hear from anyone who remembers me,so feel free to email me at dcauto@cwnet.com.I hope everyone is in good health and if not let me know and I will be happy to say a prayer for you.I would have liked to go to the reunion but my marriage was kind of on shaky ground at the time.Well thats about it for now and I looking foreward to hearing from you. Thanks! After Live Oak, I received a BA in Physics at University of Colorado in Boulder. In 1983, I was hired by IBM in Boulder to be a computer programmer. I've really enjoyed my job ever since. I earned my private pilot's license in 1983 and I was a regular flyer until 1986 when I transferred to Boca Raton, Florida. In 1990, I transferred to Tucson, Az for a brief 6-month stay. Finally, in 1991, I returned to Boulder. I got married to Cyndy in 12/91, had daughter Caitlyn in 9/92, and daughter Christina in 11/93. I am now living in Longmont, Colorado. Still an IBMer after 17 1/2 years.

Hi All - I was one of those people who were like Bigfoot, a rare sighting if any, during high school. Used to load the gang up in the big "orange pumpkin" truck and find the nearest party. (usually made our own) Well growing up does strange things to a person. As for me I reached that fork in the road that offered either the "high risk" life, chancing capture, or a more conservative life with less risk. I chose the "less risk" path. After getting kicked out of high school and doing my stint at Central High, I got my GED and went to Gav just long enough to find an interest in, none other than, Law Enforcement. (I can hear all those "GET THE **** OUTTA HERE!!! already)I have been working to keep the streets safe for the City of Gilroy since 1985. It beats waiten tables and any desk job I ever had. Have 6 stepkids and with that, 6 grandkids. I am living the life of Mom vicariously through little sister, Patty (now Mrs. Belanger) who has a beautifully wonderful 3 Y/O daughter and soon to have the new addition (A Boy!!). I can't get enough of my niece! My husband is of the "Protect and Serve" kind as well. We are enjoying our later years by riding our Harleys as often as the weather allows. Enough of this rambling... I am looking forward to hearing from the long lost and those not so lost. Until then...

Dear Friends, What am I doing?? WAY too much! Transitioning between my Marketing Communications firm of 14 years, where I program managed trade shows and conferences (too much stress) to an artist/decorative painting business which is my passion in life. My primary passion, is my family; my husband John of 6 years, 3 year old daughter Heather (our curly fry) and blended family Valerie (14), Jordan (14) and Taylor (13). Three teens and a toddler, what have I done?? :-} Love to be a mom, plant flowers, bake cakes, ride dirtbikes (just got a new one), weight training, reading and in school for Interior Design. Painted a 30' waving American flag on our garage door after 9/11. Great therapy for only $13 of paint. Love to hear from any one who remembers me from LOHS. Peace to you all, Toni

Isn't life an incredible journey?!
After over 20 years of marriage, I divorced my husband and took back my birth name (Robertson), and I am now living happily single in my own home with my cats. In 1997, I received my Bachelor's Degree in English at California State University, Sacramento. In May 2002, I earned my Master of Arts degree in English at CSUS. NO! I am not going to teach and you can't make me! Seriously, I pursued the education for the process rather than the end result. I guess most of us would never have thought that this party-girl would become an academic addict! I have a lovely daughter born in 1982 and a wonderful son born in 1983. They have grown up to be fine people. I BECAME A GRANDMOTHER TO ASHER ROUSH ON MAY 13, 2009! I am now living in Fair Oaks, CA. I bought the place in November 2003. I have been laid off from my job a few times in recent years, but I am now working as a Senior Technical Writer at First Advantage Corporation in their Transportation Services Division. I love my job. I had fun at our 30 year reunion last year. I am interested in all my old classmates. I am glad to be back in contact with so many old friends. Please send me an e-mail and let me know what you are up to. ninacoluthon@sbcglobal.net or nina.robertson@fadv.com Isn't email great??!!
